I installed my HP Deskjet F4800 All-in-One and initially, it was not picked up. But after I uninsalled, updated software and re-installed, the computer recognizes the printer. And I have printed on this printer.
However, when I tried to scan, it does not recognize the scanner.
I tried going in through System Preferences, the Print and Fax, and used the Scan tab to open scanner - it says Failed to Open Session on Device.
Anyone had the same problem and fixed it?

I see that you are trying to print in black only from your Deskjet F4480 All-in-One Printer. You should be able to print in black only by removing the color cartridge from the printer. Please let me know if this answers your questions or resolves your issues. If it does, please click on Accept Solution. Make sure HP Easy Scan is installed on the Mac, and then set up the printer connection. Make sure your printer is on and connected to your Mac with a USB cable or local wireless network. Open Finder, select Applications, and then look for HP Easy Scan.
