  • If children in your Family Sharing group have their own devices, use Ask to Buy to screen and approve their purchase requests.
  • If you let children use your device, you can require a password for every purchase.
  • You can also turn off in-app purchases entirely using Screen Time on your own device or a child's device.

How to use Screen Time to prevent in-app purchases

  1. Go to Settings > Screen Time, then tap Turn on Screen Time. If you already had Screen Time turned on, skip to step 3.
  2. Tap Continue, then choose 'This is My [device]' or 'This is My Child's [device].'
    • If you're the parent or guardian of your device and want to prevent another family member from changing your settings, tap Use Screen Time Passcode to create a passcode, then re-enter the passcode to confirm. In iOS 13.4 and later, after you confirm your passcode you'll be asked to enter your Apple ID and password. This can be used to reset your Screen Time passcode if you forget it.
    • If you're setting up Screen Time on your child's device, follow the prompts until you get to Parent Passcode and enter a passcode. Re-enter the passcode to confirm. In iOS 13.4 and later, after you confirm your passcode you'll be asked to enter your Apple ID and password. This can be used to reset your Screen Time passcode if you forget it.
  3. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If asked, enter your passcode, then turn on Content & Privacy.
  4. Tap iTunes & App Store Purchases.
  5. Tap In-app Purchases and set to Don't Allow.

You can also go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, and tap Allowed Apps. Then deselect iTunes Store and Books.

Make sure to choose a passcode that's different from the passcode you use to unlock your device. If you can't remember a restrictions passcode that you set on a previous version of iOS or iPadOS, or you forgot your Screen Time passcode, update your device to the latest iOS or iPadOS then reset your passcode. If you can’t update your device, erase it and set it up as new to remove the passcode and choose a new one. Restoring your device from a backup won't remove your passcode.

App

Purchases made in the Mac App Store are tied directly to the iTunes Apple ID used for the purchase. The Mac App Store versions are functionally identical to the Omni Store version, except it’s automatically licensed using your Apple ID, and does not require a separate license key.

As long as you are using the same Apple ID and are in the same country as the original purchase, Apple allows you to reinstall any of your previous purchases for free.

  1. Open the App Store app on your Mac.

  2. Go to Menu Bar > Store > Sign In to log in with your Apple ID.

  3. Click Purchased in the toolbar. The Purchased tab shows all prior Mac App Store purchases, excluding any of those that had previously been hidden.

  4. If you purchased the application for Mac under that Apple ID, you should see it in this list. Use the buttons next to each app to install, update, or open the app. Reinstalling apps from the same Apple ID and App Store country via the Purchases tab does not charge your account again.

Additional information about reinstalling apps in the Mac App Store is available on Apple’s support site here.

Reasons why you might not see an Omni application listed in your purchase history

  1. A different Apple ID was used for the purchase.
  2. The purchase was made using a different App Store country.
  3. The purchase is hidden. More information about this can be found on Apple’s support site here: Hidden Purchases
  4. You purchased the app directly from our Omni Store, which is an entirely separate storefront that the Mac App Store does not track.

Here at Omni we do not have access to Mac App Store accounts or Apple ID purchase information. If these steps do not help, you may need to contact Apple directly for further assistance with your Apple ID purchase history: Apple Support.
